Free Financial Advice for Caregivers

Free Financial Advice for Caregivers
caregiving comes with finanacial questions. We're here to provide answers.

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation has teamed with our partners USAA, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and PsychArmor Institute to launch a free hotline for military caregivers with financial questions. This exclusive service for those caring for wounded, ill, or injured warriors directly responds to one of the most complex and urgent gaps in caregiver support.

Military and veteran caregivers are encouraged to call 1-888-503-1168 between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to receive tips, tools and answers to questions about personal finances.  Trusted representatives from MOAA will field their calls and, if needed, refer them to experienced USAA advisors who will  provide advice at no charge. They are prepared to assist caregivers with the many scenarios that come with caring for a loved one, including budget management, getting out of debt, investing and estate planning.

The Foundation’s RAND study revealed that many caregivers manage their household’s finances. Their financial planning is complicated by a range of factors related to their caregiving, including absences from work, delayed benefits, increased medical costs, and most unfortunately, the uncertain life expectancies of their loved ones.
