One of the newest members of the Hidden Heroes Congressional Caucus for Military and Veteran Caregivers honored the military community on Veterans Day by announcing new legislation to assist military and veteran caregivers. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, whose New York district includes the community of Fort Drum, was inspired take action on this issue after listening to the concerns and ideas of Dole Caregiver Fellow Teresa Henning. She introduced the “Support Our Military Caregivers” Act, which permits independent contractor reviews of key VA evaluations regarding veteran and caregiver benefits.
