Every first Tuesday of the month

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of a new Care Group: Caring for Someone with Post Traumatic Stress. Care Groups offer a safe virtual space for caregivers to connect monthly with peers experiencing similar life situations. This Care Group will be held on the first Tuesday of the Month at 5:00pm ET beginning October 7th! Care Groups are held for one hour via Zoom and are facilitated by EDF’s Mental Wellness Specialist, Rebecca Mullaney.

Care Groups are open to any military or veteran caregiver over the age of 18 whose caregiving experience aligns with the group topic. There is no commitment to attend every session, however we encourage you to join as often as you can.

Care Groups are not mental health counseling nor therapy and are not a substitute for professional mental health advice, diagnosis, and/or treatment.

Benefits to Participation:

  • Connect with a new support system of peers;
  • Give and receive support from peers;
  • Develop a deeper understanding of one's caregiving experience.

Risks to Participation:

  • Reflecting on one's caregiving experiences and/or listening to others share their experiences may be triggering and/or result in unpleasant memories or emotions surfacing; and
  • Confidentiality by peers within the group will be encouraged and expected but cannot be guaranteed.
