Liz Porter and Scott Blackburn Join Elizabeth Dole Foundation Board of Directors
Washington, DC (August 15, 2024)— The Elizabeth Dole Foundation announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors, Elizabeth (Liz) Porter, the President of Leidos’ Health & Civil Sector and Scott Blackburn a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company.
A military spouse, Porter has been an instrumental partner of the Foundation in her role at Leidos. She leads a more than 13,000-person organization delivering transformational citizen-facing solutions using differentiated capabilities and deep mission understanding. Throughout her career, she has led critical initiatives and has served in roles such as the Senior Vice President and Operation Manager for Leidos’ Federal Energy & Environment business and the Department of Defense Information Networks & Mission Partner Program Director.
A former U.S. Army Captain, Blackburn remains active in the veteran community, routinely working with veteran service organizations and non-profits. Blackburn is also on the board of directors of Student Veterans of America, VETSports, the Concussion Legacy Foundation, and the Golden Heart Fund. At McKinsey and Company, Blackburn oversees McKinsey’s Change Leaders Forum, is global co-leader of McKinsey Center on Government, and serves as the global partner-sponsor of Veterans at McKinsey, a network of more than 500 military veterans across the globe.
“Liz and Scott are incredible leaders and passionate supporters of military and veteran caregivers and the Foundation,” said Steve Schwab, CEO of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. “They will bring a depth of experience that will make a significant impact on our community. We are proud to have them join our Board at this critical time.”
Porter and Blackburn join the Foundation’s current board, chaired by Secretary Robert McDonald. They join the board at a historic time for the Foundation, as it prepares to reveal the 10-year follow-up on its groundbreaking RAND study.
