Renee is used to taking charge. Many years ago, it was her that asked a young Marine named Chris for his hand in marriage. Their marriage has stood the test of time, 16 moves, multiple deployments, three children, and one life-changing rocket-propelled grenade. While on patrol in Fallujah in 2004, Chris’s vehicle was attacked. He lost part of his right leg and vision and the shock left him with a traumatic brain injury and PTSD. Over the last eight and a half years, Renee has learned how to help not just her husband, but now leads others through the trials and challenges of military caregiving.
