I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of author Tom Clancy, a friend and member of the advisory committee of my foundation. Tom was a true American who loved and supported his country, in words and in deeds, and he was taken from us far too soon. He was among the earliest supporters of Caring for Military Families: The Elizabeth Dole Foundation, and believed strongly in our work serving our nation’s hidden heroes – the mothers, fathers, and spouses who tirelessly care for our wounded warriors. Bob joins me, and the entire Dole Foundation family, in extending our deepest sympathies to his wife, Alexandra. Godspeed Tom Clancy, you are among the angels!
